In designing resort properties, The Irvine Company seeks to achieve a sense of timelessness through classical architecture that is historically inspired. For example, The Resort at Pelican Hill at Newport Coast, which is expected to open in 2008, will feature classic architecture inspired by Andrea Palladio, a 16th century Italian architect considered one of the most accomplished architects in history.

The resort will be perched above the Pacific Ocean adjacent to Pelican Hill Golf Club, and will help complete the master-planned Newport Coast. Pelican Hill Resort at Newport Coast will feature a 204-room hotel; 128 villas, a new golf clubhouse; a luxury spa; meeting rooms, and specialty shops.
